You've been admitted, and you paid to print your Admission Letter. But when you go back to CAPS, the page still shows Pay instead of Download. Before you pay again or panic, know that this usually happens because your transaction is still marked Pending, even though your money has left your account. The fix takes a few minutes.
Before You Start
- Have your JAMB profile login details ready (email and password).
- Have a stable internet connection.
- Make sure you actually got a debit alert or payment receipt.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Log in to your JAMB profile
Open the JAMB e-Facility portal in your browser and log in with your email and password.
Step 2: Open the CAPS page
From your dashboard, click Check Admission Status / Access my CAPS to enter the Central Admission Processing System.
Step 3: Go to the Admission Letter section
Look for Admission Letter (or Print Admission Letter) and click it. If you've already paid but it still shows Pay, don't click Pay again. Move to the next step.
Step 4: Open "My Payment"
On the left side menu, click My Payment. This shows your payment history on the portal.
Step 5: Click the status of the pending transaction
Find the transaction showing Pending. Click on the status itself. This makes the system re-check your payment and update it. Wait for the page to finish loading; the status should change to Successful/Paid.
Step 6: Go back to the Admission page
Return to the Admission Letter page in CAPS. Refresh the page if needed.
Step 7: Click Verify, then Download
You should now see a Verify option. Click it, and once verification completes, the Download / Print Admission Letter button appears. Click it and save your letter.
Quick Troubleshooting
- Status won't change? Wait a few minutes and repeat Step 5. Bank and gateway confirmations sometimes lag.
- Still showing Pay after the status updates? Log out, clear your browser cache (or try another browser), and log in again.
- Slow or error pages? Try again at off-peak hours, such as early morning or late at night, when fewer candidates are on the portal.
- Still stuck after a few tries? Keep your payment receipt or transaction reference and contact JAMB support with it.

- Save the downloaded letter in more than one place (phone, email, flash drive), since you'll need it for screening and registration
