BREAKING: 781 Migrants Cross English Channel in Single Day, Setting 2026 Record
A total of 781 migrants arrived in the UK after crossing the English Channel in small boats on Wednesday, marking the highest number recorded on a single day so far this year.
The migrants arrived in 10 boats, according to provisional Home Office figures.
The latest arrivals bring the total number of small-boat arrivals in 2026 to 18,565. That figure is 42% lower than the 32,188 recorded at the same point in 2025.
The Home Office says the figures are provisional and subject to change.
