A woman has sparked curiosity on social media after sharing a strange experience with a live snail she brought home.
According to her, she kept the snail under a sieve to stop it from crawling away. However, by the following morning, it had disappeared. After searching around the house, she eventually found it inside one of the unwashed dishes in her kitchen sink.
She said the snail had become noticeably swollen, appearing "like a balloon filled with water," although it was still alive and attempting to crawl away.
Concerned about its condition, she released it to move around freely and asked social media users if anyone knew what could have caused the unusual swelling and whether the snail would survive.
