The United States has introduced new visa restrictions for Nigerian citizens, reducing most newly issued non-immigrant visas to single-entry permits valid for just three months.
The new policy applies only to new visa applicants. Existing U.S. visas issued before the change will remain valid until their expiration dates.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has also ended outsourced visa processing in the United States, requiring applicants to submit visa applications directly through Nigerian embassies or consulates.
According to both governments, the changes are intended to strengthen border security, improve biometric verification, and enhance the integrity of travel documents.
